The standard working week in Moldova is five days and eight hours, with a 40-hour work week.
Employees in Moldova are generally entitled to 28 days of paid leave per year, of which at least 14 consecutive days must be taken.
Employees in Moldova are entitled to paid sick leave as long as they present a medical certificate as proof. Compensation costs will be borne by the government.
Female employees in Moldova are entitled to 70 days of paid maternity leave before giving birth and 56 days of paid maternity leave after giving birth, for a total of 126 days. In addition, employees are generally able to take additional parental leave until the child is three years old, but specific rights vary.
