Employment Contract in Argentina

Argentina Working Hours


The normal working week in Argentina is 48 hours. Overtime shall be compensated at 150% to 200% of regular wages, depending on when the work is completed. Overtime hours must not exceed 30 hours per month.

Paid vacation benefits for Argentinian employees depend on their number of years of service to their employer. The allowance starts at 14 days after six months of service and gradually increases to 35 days after 20 years of service.


Argentina Sick Leave


In Argentina, employees with less than five years of service are entitled to three months of paid leave. After five years, they are entitled to six months of paid leave.


Parental Leave in Argentina


Female employees in Argentina are entitled to 45 days of paid maternity leave before and after childbirth. Male employees are entitled to two days of paid paternity leave after the birth of a child.


Dismissal and Severance in Argentina


For employees who have worked in Argentina for less than five years, the employer must give 15 days' notice before terminating the contract. Employees with more than five years of service are entitled to two months' notice.


Argentinian Taxes


Employers and employees in Argentina are required to contribute a certain percentage of wages to various social funds.
